IRGC warns of dire consequences for US base

Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported this information in a report. In a statement, the IRGC Navy said that the US attack on the city of Sirik did not weaken Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz in any way. The statement said, “Our shelling of the violating ships is a clear message to other ships – they must navigate safely.”
It added, “The case of US military bases in the region is different. They will face dire consequences in the coming days.” Meanwhile, the US carried out air strikes in Iran for the second day in a row. Washington claimed that the operation was carried out in response to an attack on a commercial vessel.
The US Central Command (Centcom), which conducts military operations in the Middle East, said in a statement that the attack was carried out on the orders of the president.
Centcom said, “US forces carried out this attack today in response to Iran’s continued aggression against commercial shipping.” They claim that the attack targeted Iran’s military surveillance infrastructure, communications systems, air defense installations, drone storage centers, and mine-laying capabilities at sea.
