State Minister for Health: Government taking initiative to ensure kidney and cancer treatment at district level
The number of kidney and cancer patients in the country is increasing. To reduce their suffering, the government is taking initiatives to ensure kidney and cancer treatment at every district level, said State Minister for Health Professor Dr. MA Muhith. He said this at the closing ceremony of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Project organized by international non-governmental organization IPAS at the China Friendship Conference Center in the capital on Wednesday (June 24).
The State Minister for Health said that this government came to power and found the health sector in a fragile state. To restructure it, the government has taken the largest budget in history. The government will soon recruit one lakh health workers, 25 thousand midwives and 5 thousand doctors. Two women’s health institutes will be established for specialized treatment and research. At the time, he also said that 6 lakh 55 thousand 843 citizens have received sexual and reproductive health and rights services under the five-year ‘SRHR in Dhaka’ project.
