Driver killed after bamboo-laden truck overturns in Tekerhat
A driver was crushed to death after a truck overturned in Rajoir, Madaripur. The accident occurred at Tekerhat bus stand on the Dhaka-Barisal highway at around 10:30 pm on Sunday (June 21). The deceased truck driver, Abul Hossain Mandal (50), is the son of Zafir Uddin Mandal of Safar area of Naoga district.
Police and locals said that when a Barisal-bound bamboo-laden truck reached Tekerhat, its tire burst. Then, when driver Abul Hossain tried to open the tire, the truck overturned. As a result, he was crushed under the truck and died on the spot. Later, the police and fire brigade reached the spot and recovered the body. Mustafapur Highway Police Station SI Matiur Rahman confirmed the truth of the incident.
