Prime Minister to visit Malaysia today on first state visit

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is visiting Malaysia and China on his first state visit after forming the government. He will leave Dhaka for Kuala Lumpur at 3 pm today, Sunday (June 21).
After reaching Kuala Lumpur, the Prime Minister will hold a formal meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Monday. Issues such as opening up the labor market, gaining ASEAN membership and a free trade agreement will be the main topics of discussion at the meeting. In addition, several agreements including cultural exchanges are likely to be signed.
After that, the Prime Minister will directly from Malaysia to attend the 17th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum’s ‘New Champions’ (2026 Summer Davos Forum) in Dalian, China on Tuesday. During this time, he is likely to meet several world leaders.
After that, Tarique Rahman will hold a bilateral meeting with the Chinese Prime Minister on Wednesday. A total of 17 agreements, including 13 agreements, are likely to be signed during this bilateral visit. And he will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on June 26. After the visit, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will return home that night.
