Argentina beat Iceland 3-0
Reigning champions Argentina won their final warm-up match before the World Cup. The Albiceleste defeated Iceland 3-0.
Argentina took the lead early in this match, full of attacks and counterattacks. Argentine defender Barco took a brilliant volley from just outside the D-box. His shot touched the ground and went straight into the net from the inside corner of the Icelandic goal post. The Icelandic goalkeeper did not reach the ball even after jumping. The brilliant goal gave the Albiceleste a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Argentine side bench erupted in joy after seeing the goal. Scaloni’s team went into the break with this one-goal lead. Superstar Leo entered the field in the 67th minute of the second half of the match. Just 5 minutes after coming on the field, Leo put the team 2-0 ahead with a successful spot kick. However, before the spot kick, Messi made a great pass to Lautaro. The pass could have resulted in a goal, but the Iceland goalkeeper made a foul and saved the goal. At the end of the match, Almada scored to give Argentina a 3-0 victory.
