Two killed in separate violence in Pabna

Two people were killed in broad daylight in two separate places in Pabna within an hour. Among them, a man named Hossain Ali was shot dead in front of his child in front of Jamia Ashrafiah Madrasa in Pabna Municipality area. On the other hand, a youth named Monirul was stabbed to death over a trivial incident in the city’s central bus terminal area.
The two separate murders took place on Monday evening and night. Police and witnesses said that Hossain Ali was heading towards Jamia Ashrafiah Madrasa with his child at around 6:45 pm yesterday. As soon as they reached in front of the madrasa, a group of armed miscreants who were waiting in front of the children opened fire on Hossain Ali and fled. He died on the spot.
Shortly after this, a heated argument broke out between two youths named Rakib and Monirul in the Pabna central bus terminal area. At one point, Rakib got angry and stabbed Monirul multiple times with a sharp knife. Locals rescued Monirul in a critical condition and first took him to Pabna General Hospital. He died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Pabna District Police said that two bodies have been sent to the morgue for autopsy. The police have already launched a special operation to uncover the reason behind the double murder and arrest the criminals involved quickly.
