Grandfather hacked to death in Jessore for protesting against harassment of granddaughter

A man named Imamul was hacked to death in Jessore’s Monirampur for protesting against harassment of his granddaughter. The incident took place at around 9 pm on Monday (June 8) in Sharampur village of the upazila. The deceased Imamul is a resident of Farasatpur village of Jhikargachha upazila.
Relatives alleged that some local youths harassed Imamul’s granddaughter last Thursday (June 4). He filed a complaint with the president of Ward No. 6 BNP of Jhikargachha Sadar regarding the incident.
Imamul had an argument with the accused last night regarding the incident. At one point, they hacked Imamul with a sharp weapon and injured him and fled. Later, locals rescued him in a serious condition and took him to the hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. The process of taking legal action in this incident is underway.
