Israel claims Hamas commander killed in southern Gaza

Al Jazeera, citing the Israeli military, reported that a commander of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas was killed in an Israeli strike in southern Gaza. The Israeli military claimed that the slain commander was among the fighters who took part in a Hamas attack in the Kissufim area on October 7, 2023.
In a statement published on Telegram, the Israeli military said that Saqr Abu Karim, a cell commander of Hamas’s Nukhba unit, was killed in an air strike in southern Gaza on Tuesday. The statement also said that another Hamas member in charge of the organization’s communications operations was also killed in the attack. However, there was no immediate comment from Hamas on the matter.
