Kazi Nazrul was the main inspiration in the anti-fascist struggle: Rizvi
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the main inspiration of the anti-fascist movement was national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. He said this after paying tribute to the national poet on his 127th birth anniversary at Shahbagh in the capital on Monday (May 25) morning.
Rizvi said that Nazrul was the main inspiration of the anti-fascist movement. He also said that Nazrul’s literature had a message of equality and humanity. His songs and poems have inspired all national movements and struggles.
He further commented that the mantra of fighting against injustice, oppression and inequality was obtained from this rebellious poet. He said that Nazrul was the inspiration of the anti-dictatorship movement of the last 17 years. We got the main mantra of fighting against injustice, oppression and inequality from him.
Earlier in the morning, on the occasion of Nazrul’s birth anniversary, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam paid tribute at the tomb of the national poet. Teachers and officials from various faculties and departments of the university were present at the time. Various political parties and organizations also paid tribute at the tomb of the national poet on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
