Netanyahu will do as I say: Trump
US President Donald Trump has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will do as I say on the Iran issue. At the same time, he made it clear that he is in no “rush” to reach a deal with Iran.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday (May 20), the US president was asked what he had recently told Netanyahu about a possible attack on Iran. In response, Trump said, “He (Netanyahu) is fine. He will do whatever I tell him to do.”
The US president said, “Netanyahu is a very good man. Let’s not forget, he is a wartime prime minister.” Asked if he was willing to come to a limited deal with Iran, he said his main goal is to open the Strait of Hormuz and maintain a ceasefire.
Trump announced this week that he would postpone a planned military strike on Iran at the request of his Middle Eastern allies. Since then, the US has been giving a very vague timeframe for a diplomatic solution with Tehran. Source: CBS News, Times of Israel
