Putin to visit China after Trump, various issues to be discussed

Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting China after US President Donald Trump. This will be his 25th visit to China. During this two-day visit, Putin will meet his ‘old friend’ Chinese President Xi Jinping. During this time, they will discuss all areas of bilateral cooperation and important international and regional issues, Reuters reported.
Putin’s announcement of this visit was made at a time when US President Donald Trump concluded his visit to China a week ago. China and Russia say that Putin’s two-day visit is proof of the ‘everlasting partnership’ between the two countries. While Western countries have asked China to put pressure on Russia, they claim that this relationship is getting stronger.
Although China presents itself as a peace mediator and neutral party in the Ukraine war, Putin has claimed that China and Russia support each other’s ‘core interests’ and that the two countries are working to expand energy agreements despite Western sanctions. According to international relations experts, the summit will send a message to the world that the strategic partnership between China and Russia is very strong and no US effort will be able to create a rift between them.
According to analysts, China wants to present itself as a stable power in the world, especially at a time when the US is struggling to stop the war in Ukraine and control situations such as the Iran conflict. After the visit to China, the US side said that the two countries have reached some agreements, which can bring stability to businesses and consumers worldwide.
On the other hand, analysts believe that the close relationship between China and Russia also sends a message of maintaining stable diplomacy despite Western pressure. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said that during the visit, the two leaders will discuss all areas of bilateral cooperation and important international and regional issues.
