Talks underway with European countries to allow ships to pass through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf: Tehran
Iran said it is in talks with European countries to allow ships to pass through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf. Citing Iranian state television, the French news agency AFP reported that European countries have also started contacting Tehran after ships from East Asian countries—particularly China, Japan and Pakistan—passed through.
The report said talks are underway with the Iranian Navy on this issue, so that ships can be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz safely. However, it is not clear which European countries are involved in these talks.
