Mother murdered for not getting drug money, father and sister stabbed to death

A drug addict named Rafi (21) of Dilpur village in Sindhurpur union of Dagonbhuyan allegedly stabbed his mother Lucky Begum to death for not giving her money. When she tried to stop him, he stabbed his father Md. Mostafa and sister Mithila (18), seriously injuring them. The incident took place on Sunday (May 10) at 10 pm.
Later, hearing the screams of the family members, locals came and found the mother dead. They rescued the injured father and sister and took them to Feni Sadar Hospital. On receiving the information, the police arrested Rafi. Rafi is the son of Md. Mostafa of the house of Superintendent Maqbul Ahmed of Dilpur village in Sindhurpur union.
According to police and local sources, when Rafi asked his mother Lucky Begum for drug money at 10 pm yesterday, the mother refused to give him the money. As a result, Rafi stabbed his mother. When the father and sister resisted, they were also stabbed. The mother died on the way to the hospital.
The condition of the father and sister is critical and they have been sent to Chittagong Medical College for advanced treatment. When the locals detained Rafi and informed the police, the police arrested the murderer and drug addict Rafi. According to local sources, Sindhurpur Union is located on the Comilla district border from the upazila headquarters. Therefore, this area is a safe route for drug users.
Confirming the incident, Daganbhuiyan Police Station OC (Investigation) Ferdousi Begum Jugantar said, “As soon as I received the news of the incident, I went to the spot along with OC Faizul Amin Noman and arrested the murderer Rafi in this tragic incident and brought him to the police station. The process of sending him to the learned court on Monday is underway.”
