BGB patrols strengthened at the border

Surveillance at the border has been increased to prevent possible infiltration by India and illegal smuggling. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has issued maximum alert in the 102-kilometer border area of ​​Feni. Indian sarees worth 62 lakh 70 thousand taka were seized in an operation at the Zorarganj border in Chittagong district today, Sunday (May 10).
The BGB said that additional patrols have been strengthened at various important points of the border. Along with 24-hour surveillance, special operations are being conducted to prevent suspicious movements. Residents of the border area have been urged to be alert and report any information related to border crimes to the nearest BGB camp.
Feni-4 BGB Commander Lt. Col. M.M. Zillur Rahman said that the BGB is on maximum alert to avoid any untoward incident during the Indian elections. Intelligence surveillance has also been increased to prevent smuggling of illegally smuggled goods, drugs, cattle and various products. Meanwhile, local sources said that the BGB’s increased vigilance in the border areas has spread panic among smugglers. The BGB said that their operations will continue to maintain the country’s border security and law and order situation.
