Delhi must stop bloodshed on the border: Rizvi

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that if bloody incidents continue on the border, good relations with neighboring countries will never be established. He said that Delhi must stop this bloodshed. If they want to build a lasting friendship with Bangladesh, they must avoid the mentality of violence. He said these things while delivering a speech at the 45th National Council 2026 of the Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh today, Sunday (May 10).
Rizvi said that India’s relations with Bangladesh are so good, many say, ‘Dhaka-Delhi relations are very excellent’. Even then, two people were shot dead at the Brahmanbaria border yesterday. What do these indicate? This is the world, this is Bangladesh. The people of our country will form the government by voting for whomever they want. They will decide their own fate. Similarly, India is another country, they will also decide their own fate. Let them live in peace and happiness, we will also live in peace and happiness, an honest neighborly and friendly relationship will be maintained.
He further said that the current government is a government elected by the people. Therefore, the government will conduct its activities by protecting the interests of those people from every profession of the society who have contributed to development and production. There is no scope for deviation in this regard. If it had been an authoritarian, fascist or undemocratic government without votes, the situation could have been different.
Rizvi said that after about 16 to 17 years, a competitive and people-elected government has been established in the country. For this, we have had to go through terrible situations like demands, struggles, road movements, persecution, disappearances, killings and assassinations for a long time. That struggle has finally yielded results through the July Movement. Therefore, he expressed hope that this government will play a positive role in all areas.
