Wind gusts of up to 60 kmph and thunderstorms expected in 13 regions of the country

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of wind gusts of up to 60 kmph and thunderstorms in 13 regions of the country. This information was given in the forecast given for the country’s inland river ports from 5 am to 1 pm today, Sunday (May 3).
The forecast says that gusts or stormy winds may blow temporarily from the west or northwest in Pabna, Dhaka, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet regions. Rain or thunderstorms may also occur during this time.
River ports in these areas have been instructed to display warning signal number 1. Meanwhile, another bulletin from the Meteorological Department said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers along with gusty or squally winds and lightning are likely to occur in all parts of the country till the evening. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in various parts of the country including Dhaka during this time. This trend of thundershowers is likely to continue in all parts of the country for the next few days.
