US delegation to visit Pakistan today to meet Iran

US President Donald Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are visiting Pakistan to meet with the Iranian delegation. The White House said they will leave for Islamabad today (April 25). White House Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt confirmed the news on Friday (April 24) local time.
“I can confirm that Special Envoys Witkoff and Jared Kushner will leave for Pakistan again tomorrow morning for talks,” she said. Levitt added, “The Iranians want to talk. If the talks are successful, US Vice President J.D. Vance is ready to visit Pakistan.”
A team led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Pakistan last night. In a statement, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said that upon arrival in Pakistan, the Iranian delegation will meet with top Pakistani leaders, including Foreign Minister Eshaq Dar and Army Chief Asim Munir. The latest regional developments and “ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability” will be discussed.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said there were no plans for direct meetings with the US in Islamabad. He wrote on social media that Iran’s observations or statements in Islamabad would be conveyed to Pakistan. Abbas Araghchi will only meet with senior Pakistani officials.
