Four members of the same family were killed by slitting their throats in Naogaon

Four members of the same family were killed by miscreants in Niamatpur, Naogaon. The incident took place on Monday (April 20) night in Bahadurpur village of Bahadurpur union of Niamatpur upazila. When the matter came to light around 8 am today, locals informed the Niamatpur police. Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Niamatpur police station, Naogaon, confirmed this information.
The deceased are – Habibur Rahman (32), son of Namir Uddin of Bahadurpur village, Habibur’s wife Popi Sultana (25), son Parvez (9) and 3-year-old daughter Sadia Akhter. According to local eyewitnesses and police sources, Habibur Rahman slept with his family members after eating dinner as usual. In the morning, a local old woman found the door of their house open. Later, when they went there, they found the bodies of Habib, his wife, son and daughter with their throats slit.
Hearing the old woman’s screams, the villagers immediately reached the spot and informed the police station. Later, the police reached the spot around 9 am and recovered the bodies. Locals believe that the murder took place due to a land dispute. Niamatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbubur Rahman said that the bodies will be recovered and sent to the 250-bed General Hospital in Naogaon for autopsy. The murder of four people, including a child from the same family, is being investigated with great seriousness. The process of taking legal action in this incident is underway.
