Earlier, the Prime Minister participated in the inaugural ceremony of the family card distribution program organized at the Bagbari Shaheed Zia Degree College ground in Gabtoli Upazila. There was humor in her simple and fluent speech, which immediately enlivened the public meeting.
At one point in the speech, when a slight noise started among the audience, she took the microphone and said, “Hey brother, you have to be quiet. Otherwise, if you speak, I will leave.” Her comment caused laughter in the meeting venue. Later, she said in a homely tone, “I am hungry. I have come to my father’s house, will you not give me food? I have not eaten yet, I have not even prayed. There are more public meetings ahead, more programs. Then I have to return to Dhaka again.”
The crowd responded to the Prime Minister’s sincere and spontaneous remarks with applause. Many people positively accepted her simple behavior. Her wife Zubaida Rahman was present at the event. She was seen enjoying her husband’s humor in the speech. A joyful atmosphere was also observed among the other guests present on the stage.
During the speech, when someone from the audience requested the Prime Minister to give a long speech, he replied with a smile, “That is not possible. I will come again.” At the end of the program, food assistance was provided to the local needy and helpless people through the distribution of family cards. Later, the Prime Minister left Bogra for the next program.
