Body of Girish Chandra, who died in Bahrain, handed over to family

The body of expatriate Girish Chandra Sutradhar, who died of illness in Bahrain, has been handed over to his relatives. Commerce Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir handed over the body to his relatives at Hangar Gate No. 8 of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 9 am today (April 15) on Wednesday.
The Commerce Minister said that the family has been given 35,000 taka for the last rites. Another 3 lakh taka will be given later. Meanwhile, the relatives said that there was uncertainty about bringing the body back to the country due to the war in the Middle East. Later, the government helped bring the body. Earlier, Girish Chandra Sutradhar’s body reached Dhaka on a Gulf Air flight at around 8:30 am.
