Maximum security arrangements have been strengthened for the New Year celebrations
RAB Director General Ahsan Habib Palash said that extensive security arrangements have been taken across the country for the celebration of the Bengali New Year 1433. Although there is no security risk, RAB’s special commando force has been kept ready to deal with any kind of sabotage attack.
He said this while inspecting RAB’s security arrangements for the celebration of the Bengali New Year at Ramna Batmul in the capital today (April 13) and at a briefing on the occasion of the Bengali New Year celebrations nationwide. The RAB Director General said that 15 battalions will be deployed across the country to ensure the celebration of Pohela Boishakh in a festive atmosphere.
He said that RAB members will actively perform their duties in their respective areas of responsibility until the New Year celebrations are over. A total of 308 patrol teams, including 181 pickup patrol teams and 127 motorcycle patrol teams, will be in the field on this occasion. In addition, plainclothes intelligence surveillance has also been strengthened.
In addition, special security measures have been taken at important places in the capital – Shahbag, TSC, Suhrawardy Udyan, Rabindra Sarobar, Hatirjheel, Manik Mia Avenue, Bangla Academy and Ramna Batamul. Checkposts, observation posts have been set up in these areas and regular patrols have been strengthened. The Director General of RAB also said that the Bomb Disposal Unit and Dog Squad are already conducting operations to prevent possible sabotage and have been kept ready to deal with any situation. The special commando force of RAB has been kept ready to deal with any kind of sabotage attack. In addition, control rooms, foot patrols, CCTV surveillance and adequate reserve forces have been kept across the country.
