BCB has not formed a parents’ prayer committee: Home Minister
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not formed a parents’ prayer committee. An ad hoc committee of BCB has been formed under the leadership of the country’s talented cricketer Tamim Iqbal, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said. He said this in the wake of the comments made by National Citizen Party (NCP) chief organizer and Comilla-4 MP Hasnat Abdullah in the first session of the National Parliament today (April 8).
Salahuddin Ahmed said that during the interim government, the sports advisor influenced district sports organizations and registered clubs across the country to form the BCB committee. Although a writ petition was filed in the High Court regarding the formation of the committee, it was kept pending. Keeping this in mind, the current democratic government formed an investigation committee to investigate what kind of irregularities had occurred. After that committee submitted its report, the board was dissolved and it was said that irregularities had occurred. Later, a BCB convening committee was formed under the leadership of Tamim Iqbal. I did not form a father’s prayer and mother’s prayer committee here. Earlier, Hasnat Abdullah had said that the BCB is no longer the Bangladesh Cricket Board, it has now become the father’s prayer cricket board.
