Ship carrying diesel from Malaysia arrives at the port
The tanker ship ‘PVT Solana’ carrying about 30,000 tons of refined diesel from Malaysia has arrived at the Chittagong port. This is the eighth ship carrying diesel since the war in the Middle East began. Port Secretary Syed Rifaet Hamim confirmed the arrival of the ship at the Chittagong port on Tuesday (March 31).
He said that in addition to the ‘PVT Solana’ carrying gas oil, two more ships carrying LPG have arrived at the outer anchorage. Two ships carrying LNG and LPG are on the way.
A BPC official said that the process of lightering the ship ‘PVT Solana’ from the Alpha anchorage of the outer anchorage of the Chittagong port or directly bringing it to the Dolphin Jetty in Patenga and discharging the oil is underway. He said that another ship carrying fuel oil will arrive at the port in a few days.
