Government appoints administrators in 14 more district councils

The government has appointed administrators in 14 more district councils of the country. The matter was announced in a notification signed by Khandaker Farhad Ahmed, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, on Tuesday (March 31).
The notification said that in accordance with Section 827(1) inserted in the District Councils Act, 2000 by Section 3 of the District Councils (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024, the persons mentioned next to their names have been appointed as full-time administrators of the district councils until further orders.
According to the notification, Md. Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury has been appointed as the administrator of Nilphamari, AKM Mominul Haque as the administrator of Lalmonirhat, Mohammad Zahurul Islam as the administrator of Pabna, Md. Mostafizur Rahman Alek as the administrator of Narail, Md. Nazrul Islam Mollah as the administrator of Barguna, Md. Sirajul Haque as the administrator of Jamalpur, Md. Yasin Ferdous Morad as the administrator of Dhaka, Chowdhury Ishraq Ahmed Siddiqui as the administrator of Gazipur, Jamilur Rashid Khan as the administrator of Manikganj, Tofazzal Hossain as the administrator of Narsingdi, Md. Afzal Hossain Kh’ ‘Palash as the administrator of Faridpur, Ahmed Ali as the administrator of Habiganj, AKM Salim Ullah Selim as the administrator of Chandpur, and Professor MA Khalek as the administrator of Feni Zilla Parishad.
The ministry said that the order, issued in the public interest with the approval of the appropriate authorities, will come into effect immediately.
