Indian goods worth Tk 3.5 crore seized at Kasba border
Border Guard Bangladesh (60 BGB) has seized Indian goods worth Tk 3.5 crore in a separate operation at Kasba border in Brahmanbaria. BGB-60 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel SM Shariful Islam confirmed this information on Monday (March 30) afternoon.
He said that a special patrol team of Kasba Madla BOP of Sultanpur Battalion (60 BGB) in Brahmanbaria conducted an anti-smuggling operation on Sunday night and Monday morning. In that operation, 2,468 high-quality Indian sarees were seized from the Kasba border pillar-2045/M area. The total value of which is Tk 2.6 crore 21 lakh.
On the other hand, BGB jawans have seized 17,295 high-quality Indian glasses and 100 kg of coffee from a place called Chandakhala, about 50 yards inside Bangladesh from the zero line of the 2043/3-S border pillar of Shashidal BOP in Brahmanpara upazila. The value of which is 1 crore 42 lakh 38 thousand 400 taka. The process of submitting the seized goods to Akhaura customs is underway.
