Russia is giving Iran the location of US troops: Zelensky
Iran has been attacking US military bases and other key installations in the Middle East in response to US and Israeli aggression. Since the beginning of the conflict, various US and European sources have accused Russia of providing intelligence to Tehran to carry out targeted attacks. Now Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has joined the list.
He alleged that Russia is identifying the location and movement of US troops in the Middle East and informing Iran. Zelensky said that Ukraine has intelligence that Russia is monitoring US and allied military bases in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
In a post on Telegram, Zelensky said that surveillance or photography was carried out in seven locations this week, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar. This includes the joint US-British base on the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia. Zelensky has hinted that the move could be linked to broader geopolitical tensions. He has also questioned Moscow’s move to ease sanctions.
The Ukrainian president visited the United Arab Emirates and Qatar this week, where he offered to help Ukraine with battle-tested drone technology to counter Iranian aggression. He also signed a 10-year security agreement with Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
