All educational institutions reopen today

After more than a month-long holiday on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr, all educational institutions from primary to higher secondary level are reopening today. This holiday of about 40 days officially ended last Thursday (March 27). However, since the next two days, Friday and Saturday, are weekly holidays, class activities are starting from Sunday, March 29.
Originally, according to the revised annual holiday list, the Ramadan and Eid holidays were scheduled to start from February 19 to March 26.
Meanwhile, in view of the ongoing global situation, the government decided to temporarily close all government and private universities in the country from March 9 to save electricity and energy. As a result of this decision, the Eid holidays were implemented in the universities ahead of schedule.
After the holidays, classes and academic activities will resume in most higher education institutions in the country, including Dhaka University, from today.
Incidentally, to make up for the learning gap caused by the school holidays during the holy month of Ramadan, classes will resume in government primary schools across the country for the next 10 Saturdays (weekly holidays) when classes resume after the holidays. That is, classes will continue in government primary schools on the weekly holiday, Saturday, April 4.
