Fire in Chattala Express in Chittagong

A fire broke out on the Dhaka-bound Chattala Express train in Sitakunda, Chittagong. Firefighters reached the spot and brought the fire under control after receiving information. The incident took place in the Faujdarhat area of ​​the upazila at around 5:45 am on Thursday (March 25).
The fire department said that the power car of the Dhaka-bound train and later an air-conditioned compartment next to it caught fire on Thursday morning. After receiving information about the fire, two units of the fire department reached the spot at Kumira station and started work to bring the fire under control. The fire has been brought under control.
However, the fire department could not initially state the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage. In this regard, Railway Chittagong Divisional Manager Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiyan said that the damaged compartments have been separated after the accident. The power car is being sent from Chittagong. After being connected, the train will leave for Dhaka.
Train movement on the Dhaka-bound lane from Chittagong was slightly disrupted at the time of the fire. However, no train schedules have been cancelled. The railway official also said that the situation is relatively normal at present.
