Tehran calls Trump’s ‘peace talks’ fake news
US President Donald Trump has claimed that talks are underway to see if a broader deal can be reached with Iran. However, Al Jazeera reported that Tehran has directly rejected this claim. They called it ‘fake news’.
The speaker of the Iranian parliament has said that the claim that any kind of talks are underway with the US is completely false. It is being spread to influence the international financial and oil markets. Meanwhile, when Trump announced that a possible attack on Iranian power plants would be postponed for five days, international oil prices fell by about 11 percent.
However, despite the claims of talks, there is no sign of abating tensions in reality. The US military’s Central Command said that its forces are still vigorously attacking various Iranian targets.
