BNP government aims to double people’s income in 2 years: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that the BNP government aims to double people’s income in 2 years. He said that if the people of the country are by its side, any plan is possible. He also commented that BNP’s politics is to change the fate of the people. The Prime Minister said these things after inaugurating the Sahapara Canal excavation program in Kaharol Upazila of Dinajpur on Monday (March 16) afternoon.
Tarique Rahman said, “We who are BNP, the work of this party is to do such work that benefits the people and makes them happy. We try to do those things and that is why we have gathered here today, today we are officially going to dig this Sahapara Canal.” The Prime Minister also talked about what the results will be when the work of digging this canal, which is about 12 kilometers long, is completed.
He said, “When we complete the work completely, about 31 thousand farmers will get water from here. About 1,200 hectares of land will come under irrigation with the water that will be in this canal.” Three and a half lakh people will get the benefit of this canal water, they will be able to use the water of this canal in various ways. Not only that, about 60 thousand metric tons more crops will be produced compared to the crops produced at present.
Regarding why canal digging is important, the Prime Minister said, almost all the canals that existed earlier in Bangladesh have been filled. On the way here, I saw that the river has also been filled in different places. Some agricultural work is being done in the river. After crossing the small culvert bridge, I saw that many canals have been almost filled. I learned from the news in this area that there is drought even during the rainy season, water is not available in many places. But we want to use this rainwater.
Referring to BNP’s politics as the politics of changing the fate of the people, she said, “Today, we want those who earn 5 thousand taka per month to increase their income to 5 to 10 thousand taka in the next two to four years. We want those who earn 2 thousand taka to take steps through which their income will double. This is the goal of our politics. This is Shaheed Zia’s politics.” This is Khaleda Zia’s politics and this is the politics of your elected BNP government.
