Woman pedestrian dies after wall of under-construction building collapses in Madhubagh

A woman pedestrian died after a wall of an under-construction building collapsed in Madhubagh area of ​​Moghbazar under Hatirjheel police station in the capital. The incident took place at 8:30 pm on Friday (March 13) in lane number 3 of Madhubagh. The deceased, Rasheda Begum, is the wife of Saiful Islam of Durgapur village in Gaibandha Sadar upazila. She currently lived in a rented house in Madhubagh area of ​​Moghbazar and worked as a domestic worker in various houses.
Locals said that Rasheda was rescued in a seriously injured condition and was first taken to Kurmitola General Hospital. When her condition deteriorated, she was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared her dead around 10 pm.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has filed a case with Hatirjheel police station accusing the building owner. Locals allege that the building owner did not take any safety measures as per the rules even though the construction work of the building has been going on for a long time.
