China’s warning to America and Israel
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has criticized the US and Israel’s military aggression in Iran. He also warned against attempts to change the regime in Iran. He called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to the negotiating table.
At a press conference in Beijing on Sunday (March 8), Wang Yi said that the current crisis “will never be resolved” by using military force. He stressed the need to resolve the crisis through diplomatic means instead of conflict. He added that the world cannot return to a regime where “the use of force is the only solution.”
Regarding the statements by the US and Israel on regime change in Iran, Wang Yi said, “The people there have no support for a color revolution or regime change.” “Only through diplomatic talks can lasting peace be achieved,” the Chinese foreign minister said. “The sovereignty of all countries, including Iran, must be respected and military operations in the Middle East must cease immediately to prevent the conflict from escalating and spreading to other regions.” He said, “This is a war that should never have happened and is not helping anyone.” The use of force does not open the way to any solution; Armed conflict only increases hatred and creates new crises.” Wang also said that the people of the Middle East are the real owners of the region, so local countries should be allowed to independently decide the affairs of the region without external interference. Meanwhile, a secret report by the US National Intelligence Council said that “even if the US launches a major military attack, it is unlikely that Iran’s military and religious power structure will collapse easily.” Stressing the need to resolve the issue diplomatically, Wang Yi said that all parties should quickly return to the negotiating table, resolve differences through dialogue, and work to ensure common security. He added that China is ready to work with Middle Eastern countries to restore stability in the Middle East, ensure peace among people, and establish peace in the world. Earlier last Wednesday (March 4), Wang Yi said that the conflict in the Middle East is escalating, so China will send a special envoy to mediate.
