2 beaten to death on theft charges in Munshiganj

Two people were beaten to death on theft charges in Louhajang, Munshiganj. Law enforcement has arrested 3 people in this incident. The incident took place at Satgharia Community Clinic in Haldia Union early on Wednesday (March 4). The deceased were identified as Sagar (30), son of Farhad Mia of Bede Palli, Goalimandra, and Md. Chanarul (30), son of Shahidul.
Locals said that locals caught the two while stealing electrical wires from the community clinic. Later, an agitated mob beat them up and seriously injured them. Later in the morning, when they were taken to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor declared them dead.
Locals claim that goats worth lakhs of taka were stolen from a farm in Satgharia area two weeks ago. Locals suspect the two deceased in this incident. Munshiganj Superintendent of Police Md. Menhazul Alam said that three suspects have been arrested after the incident. A drive is underway in the area.
