Extortion news broadcast on Jamuna TV, 9 arrested in Sirajganj

The Sirajganj administration has been shaken after Jamuna TV broadcasted news of extortion on roads and highways. A drive is being carried out. 9 people have already been arrested.
Sirajganj Deputy Commissioner Sirajganj Superintendent of Police Aminul Islam confirmed that they were arrested in the drive. However, the names of the detainees were not immediately known.
Additional police have been deployed in the areas where there are allegations of extortion since morning. Illegal shops built along the highway are also being demolished. This initiative has also been taken so that people do not suffer during the upcoming Eid pilgrimage.
Earlier, a report on extortion on highways was published on Jamuna Television. It showed how extortion is being collected from markets and roads. The administration took such measures immediately after the news was broadcast.
