At least 15 killed in Bolivia military plane crash
A military plane crashed in Bolivia on Friday (February 27), killing at least 15 people and injuring at least 30. The horrific accident occurred yesterday.
Authorities said the Bolivian Air Force Hercules plane was carrying new banknotes from the country’s central bank and had taken off from the city of Santa Cruz. It skidded off the runway during landing and crashed on a busy road in the city of El Alto, near the capital La Paz.
It is initially believed that the crash was caused by adverse weather conditions. Several vehicles on the road were also damaged. El Alto International Airport was temporarily closed immediately after the crash.
