Youth beaten up for insulting schoolgirl on Facebook in Satkhira

A youth was beaten up by local youths in Shyamnagar, Satkhira, on charges of insulting and harassing a schoolgirl on Facebook. The incident took place in the Munshiganj area of ​​the upazila around 11 am on Wednesday (February 25).
Witnesses to the incident said that a youth had made harsh comments on Facebook about a student of Kalbari Nekjania Secondary School. Locals, including students of the school, were angry about this. Later, when the youth was found at the spot, local youths beat him up.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shyamnagar Police Station Khaledur Rahman said that no one had informed the police station about the matter. Steps are being taken to prevent fresh clashes over the incident.
