Schoolgirl stabbed to death by miscreants in Hazaribagh

A class 9 schoolgirl named Shahriar Sharmin Binti was stabbed to death by miscreants in Hazaribagh in the capital. The incident took place at around 9:30 pm on Wednesday (February 25) from inside the alley of Haider Hotel under Hazaribagh police station. Later, she was rescued in a seriously injured condition and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where the doctor on duty declared her dead at around 10:30 pm.
CCTV footage shows the deceased Binti walking with the accused teenager Siam along the alley of Haider Hotel at around 9:15 pm. Shortly after, neighbors gathered at the scene after hearing Binti’s bloodied screams from the dark alley nearby.
She was then sent to a local hospital. When she was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 10:30 pm, doctors declared Binti dead. The deceased Shahriar Sharmin Binti was a class 9 student of Rayerbazar High School. Her father is Billal Hossain. Binti’s father has alleged that the teenager Siam had been harassing his daughter for a long time. Police said that the accused has been provisionally identified. A drive is underway to arrest the accused.
