This time, a case has been filed against Rumin Farhana’s workers

A counter-case has been filed against Rumin Farhana, an independent MP from Brahmanbaria-2 (some parts of Sarail, Ashuganj and Bijoynagar) constituency, on charges of obstructing the paying of homage at the Shaheed Minar and beating up workers. Earlier, a case had been filed against Anwar Hossain, former general secretary of Sarail Upazila BNP, by a worker of Rumin Farhana.
The Sarail Police Station filed the case yesterday (February 23). Tamim Mia, an employee of a business owned by Anwar Hossain, filed the case as the plaintiff last Sunday night. The names of 17 people and 100 to 150 unknown accused have been mentioned in the case.
The case details state that in the early hours of February 21, unknown accused including the complainant assaulted Farzana Anwar Diagnostic Center, a business establishment of Anwar Hossain, a member of the district BNP and former general secretary of Sarail Upazila BNP, in front of his house. When the plaintiff went to protest, the accused beat him up and looted cash.
Independent MP Rumin Farhana wrote in a post on Facebook about the case, “On February 21st, they did not stop me from going to the Shaheed Minar, today they have created a false case against my leaders and activists. Although the entire incident took place in front of the police administration on February 21st, they were still dumb and deaf. This is an example of the new Bangladesh and new politics.
Earlier, a worker of Rumin Farhana named Ahad filed a case with Sarail Police Station on Sunday (February 22nd) afternoon on charges of preventing MP Rumin Farhana from paying homage at the Sarail Upazila Central Shaheed Minar and beating up her activists. The main accused in the case is former Sarail Upazila BNP general secretary Anwar Hossain. In addition to the five accused named in the case, 140 to 150 unknown persons have been named as accused.
Sarail Police Station OC Manjur Quader Bhuiyan confirmed the truth of the case and said that necessary legal action will be taken after investigation.
