BSF seizes 95 cows from border
BSF seizes 95 cows from Roumari border in Kurigram. The incident took place between international border pillars 1071-72 at Algarchar border in Jadurchar union of the upazila at around 4 pm on Sunday (February 22). Meanwhile, even after two days, BSF has not returned the cows.
According to BGB and local sources, a group of 10-15 people were feeding the cows at Algarchar border in Jadurchar union at around 4 pm yesterday. Suddenly, the cows inadvertently crossed no-man’s land and entered the Indian border. At that time, BSF members from Kalaierchar camp in India seized the cows. Later, the cow owners informed the UP member of this union, Md. Farman Ali. Upon receiving the information, he contacted Baliamari Company Commander Subedar Sharif Uddin.
In this regard, Baliamari Company Commander Subedar Sharif Uddin said, “The cow owners did not inform me about the seizure of the cows, but the UP of this union, Md. Farman Ali, informed me about it. Later, when the BSF in charge of the Kalaierchar camp in India was contacted on mobile phone, he denied the matter. He said that he was investigating. Although attempts were made to contact Lieutenant Colonel Hasanur Zaman, commander of the BGB’s Jamalpur-35 battalion, on mobile phone several times, he did not pick up the call.
