Trust Tarique Rahman and the government, the country will move forward: Bridge Minister

Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam received a public reception at his village house in Mollahat, Bagerhat. A large number of leaders and activists and common people were present at the public reception organized by Mollahat Upazila BNP at Nasukhali High School grounds in the upazila at 3 pm yesterday, Saturday (February 21).
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam said, “You should trust Tarique Rahman and the BNP government, God willing, the country will move forward. In a democracy, there will be opposition parties, there will be competition, but revenge cannot be taken for it. If someone commits a crime, the state will take action against him. There is no place for taking the law into one’s own hands, conflict or violence.”
He said, everyone has to work together for the welfare of the country and the people. There may be political differences, but we have to move forward together in the interest of the country. The minister told the people of his area, “I am your son. You may have many demands. But you must remember that I have been given the responsibility of working across the country. I have to complete the work of other areas first.” “Nevertheless, as a son of the house, the development of Mollahat will be on my priority list.”
Mentioning the developmental activities, Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam said that a radical change will be brought in the country’s communication system through the development of roads, railways and waterways. He further mentioned that the government is committed to rural infrastructure, development of safe road systems and building a modern communication network.
BNP Central Executive Committee Member Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Advocate Sheikh Wahiduzzaman Dipu spoke at the event. They said that new prospects for the development of the region have been created with Mollahat’s son Sheikh Rabiul Alam becoming a minister.
The event was presided over by Upazila BNP President Sheikh Hafizur Rahman and General Secretary Md. Present at the event, hosted by Harun Al Rashid, were former Upazila BNP President Chowdhury Selim Ahmed, Bagerhat District BNP members Khan Monirul Islam and Hadiuzzaman Hero, leaders and activists of the district and upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations. It is worth noting that Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam was given a floral welcome at the public reception. Crests of honor were presented by BNP and its affiliated organizations, various educational institutions and socio-cultural organizations. There was a festive atmosphere and a large presence of leaders and activists throughout the event.
