Lakshmipur: Accused of beating to death for 5 taka in Lakshmipur

In Ramganj, Lakshmipur, an expatriate Alamgir Hossain has been accused of beating to death his elder brother Khorshed Alam over a 5 taka electricity bill transaction. The incident took place on Saturday (February 21) night in the Uttar Badarpur area of ​​Karpara union number 8 of Ramganj upazila.
Locals said that a fight broke out between the two brothers over a 5 taka electricity bill transaction. Later, when Khorshed Alam and a few others went to a tea shop near their house, they thrashed his younger brother Alamgir Hossain indiscriminately and left. The locals rescued him and quickly took him to the Ramganj Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Additional Superintendent of Police Hossain Mohammad Rahayan Kazimi said that the body has been recovered and sent to the hospital morgue. Preparations are underway to file a murder case in this incident. He also said that a drive is underway to arrest those involved.
