Government initiative to provide protein to 10 lakh families at affordable prices

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku said that the government has taken the initiative to provide protein to 10 lakh low-income families at affordable prices during the month of Ramadan. He said this at the inauguration ceremony of the affordable milk, egg and meat sales program at the Livestock Research Institute in Mohakhali, the capital, on Thursday (February 19).
The State Minister said that this time 10 lakh families will be able to buy milk, eggs and meat at low prices. For this purpose, the sales program has been started in 25 places in the capital including Uttara, Azimpur, Mirpur. It will continue throughout Ramadan. He mentioned that this initiative will also be spread to other districts of the country. Among them, a dozen eggs are available for 96 taka, a kg of milk for 80 taka and a kg of meat for 650 taka. He commented that the price of products in the market will also come down as a result of this initiative.
