Former Press Secretary returns to journalism
Shafiqul Alam has returned to journalism after serving as the press secretary to the interim government’s chief advisor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. He made the announcement in a post on his Facebook today, Wednesday (February 18). The former press secretary wrote on Facebook, “I have joined a new English newspaper, Daily Wada, as an editor. I seek everyone’s prayers and blessings.”
Incidentally, on August 13, 2024, Shafiqul Alam, the bureau chief of the news agency AFP in Dhaka, was appointed as the press secretary to the interim government’s former chief advisor, Muhammad Yunus. Later, in February 2025, he was given the post of senior secretary. BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman was sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Tuesday.
