Tarique Rahman sworn in as Prime Minister

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has been sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Today, Tuesday (February 17), after 4 pm, President Md. Shahabuddin administered the oath to him at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. As per tradition, the cabinet swearing-in ceremony began with the national anthem and recitation of the Holy Quran. After taking the oath as Prime Minister, the President administered the oath of secrecy to Tarique Rahman. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman signed the oath there.
Then, the President administered the oath to 25 ministers. After taking the oath, the formalities ended with their signatures. Later, the President administered the oath to 24 state ministers. The formalities of the new government’s swearing-in ceremony ended with their signatures. The ceremony was conducted by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani. Those sworn in as ministers are: Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain, Abdul Awal Mintu, Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, Mizanur Rahman Minu, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Khandaker Abdul Muktadir Muktadir, Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Zahir Uddin Swapan, Dipen Dewan, ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, Sheikh Rabiul Alam, Asadul Habib Dulu, Sardar Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Fakir Mahbub Anam, Afroza Khanam Rita, Md. Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Md. Asaduzzaman, Zakaria Taher, Mohammad Aminur Rashid (Technocrat), Khalilur Rahman (Technocrat).
On the other hand, M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Anindya Islam Amit, Shariful Alam, Farhad Hossain Azad, Shama Obaid, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Habibur Rashid Habib, Rajib Ahsan, Azizul Bari Helal, Mir Shahe Alam, Jonayed Saki, Ishraq Hossain, Farzana Sharmin Putul, Faridul Islam, Yaser Khan Chowdhury, M Iqbal Hossain, MA Muhith, Ahmed Sohel Manzur, Bobby Hajjaj, Ali Newaz Khayyam and Aminul Haque (Technocrat) took oath as Prime Minister along with his wife Zubaida Rahman and daughter Jayma Rahman. Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus was present at the ceremony. In addition, at least 1,000 domestic and foreign guests attended the swearing-in ceremony.
