Elected parliament will be accountable to the people: Amir Khosru
BAP Standing Committee Member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, after so many years, there has been an elected parliament. This is the most joyful thing. The people of Bangladesh have been able to exercise their voting rights and elect representatives to the parliament, which will be accountable to the people. He said this while talking to reporters after taking oath today, Tuesday (February 17).
Amir Khosru said, the joy of being elected is associated with the constitutional, political, democratic rights of the people of Bangladesh. So today is a happy day, we are moving towards democracy. We have struggled for so many years for people’s ownership, we think we are moving towards that. He further said, the main motto of democracy is that the people can speak freely, elect representatives and hold them accountable. He called on all members of parliament to cooperate in implementing the matter.
The BNP leader said, we always talk about the constitution. Parliament should be run constitutionally. Who will take the oath, who will take it, who will not take the oath, it is their personal matter. We were elected, so we think that if we have to show respect to the people, we have to take an oath and sit in parliament.
