Indian Speaker, Foreign Secretary to arrive in Dhaka to attend new government’s swearing-in ceremony
Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is arriving in Dhaka to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Bangladesh. The country’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri will accompany him. Today, Sunday (February 15), the Indian Ministry of External Affairs announced in a press release that the Lok Sabha Speaker will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
It is learned that on Saturday, the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, accepted the invitation sent by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, Indian High Commission sources said that the AI Summit is being held in India at the same time. About 20 heads of state, including French President Macron, will attend it. Therefore, instead of Prime Minister Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishri will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government in Bangladesh.
