A terrible fire broke out in a madrasa in Rupganj, Narayanganj, 10 rooms including their belongings were burnt to ashes. Two units of the fire service brought the fire under control after about an hour of effort. The madrasa authorities claim that there has been a huge financial loss. On Saturday night (February 7), a fire broke out in Madrasa-e-Noor Madina in the Barpa area of ​​​​Tarabo Municipality of the upazila.
The fire was brought under control after about an hour of effort with the help of two units of the Kanchan Fire Service and locals. By then, 10 rooms including the library, along with books, tables, chairs, fans kept in various rooms, were burnt to ashes. Founder Hafez Maulana Habibullah has claimed that there has been a loss of at least Tk 20 lakh.
Senior Station Officer of the Fire Service, Mahfuzur Rahman, said that the fire started from inside a closed room of the institution’s Noorani department. Within moments, it spread to the entire madrasa. At that time, students from different rooms ran to safety. However, no casualties were reported. He also said that initially it is believed that the fire started from an electrical short circuit.
