Postal ballots of 3,79,924 expatriates have arrived in the country
Out of the expatriates registered on the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app to vote in the upcoming 13th National Parliament Election and referendum, 3,79,924 postal ballots have reached Bangladesh. Salim Ahmed Khan, Team Leader of the ‘OCV-SDI’ project regarding expatriate voter registration, gave this information on Thursday (February 5). He further said that till 9:30 am today, a total of 7,66,862 ballots have been sent to the registered expatriates through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app. Out of these, 5,26,08 expatriates have received their ballots and 4,80,416 have already completed voting.
In addition, 4,44,952 expatriate voters have submitted their ballots to the post offices or postal departments of the respective countries. Out of these, 17,168 ballots have already reached the returning officers. The Election Commission (EC) has started sending postal ballots to voters residing within the country (ICPV) and abroad. So far, ballots have been sent to the addresses of 6,62,191 registered voters within the country. According to the latest data from the EC, 2,60,447 voters within the country have received their ballots till 9:30 am today. Out of these, 2,11,122 have voted and 1,68,519 have submitted their ballots in post offices or mailboxes. Returning officers have received 27,367 ballots so far. Salim Ahmed Khan further said that a total of 15,33,684 voters in the country and abroad have registered on the ‘Postal Vote BD’ app to vote through postal ballot in the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum.
