Son hacks his mother to death and throws her on the road

In Rajshahi city, his son hacked his mother to death with a saw and threw her on the road. The murder took place at around 9:30 pm on Saturday (January 31) at the old Krishi Bank intersection in the city’s Kharkhari area. The deceased woman’s name is Sohagi Khatun (55). She is the wife of Azizul Islam of the area. Later, locals arrested the murderer named Sumon and handed him over to the police.
According to eyewitnesses and police sources, Sumon was a drug addict. At night, his mother pressured Sohagi to ask for money for drugs. But when she expressed her inability to pay, Sumon repeatedly hit her mother in the chest and stomach with a saw. Sumon died on the spot. Later, Sumon threw his mother’s body on the road and went home and closed the door of the house.
When the matter came to light, the locals arrested the murderer Sumon from his house and informed the police station. Later, the police went to the spot and arrested Sumon and took him to the police station. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased Sohagir has been recovered and sent to the Rajshahi Medical College Morgue for autopsy. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandrima Police Station in the city, Monirul Islam, said, “The body has been recovered from the scene and sent to the morgue. The accused youth has been arrested and brought to the police station for questioning. Initially, it was learned that the youth is a drug addict. Legal action is being taken against the accused youth.”
