Jamaat leader killed in Sherpur: Situation heated in Jhenaigati

Earlier, yesterday, Wednesday (January 28), there was a clash between Jamaat and BNP leaders and activists in Jhenaigati upazila over the election manifesto announcement ceremony for Sherpur-3 (Sribardi-Jhenaigati) parliamentary constituency. In this, Rezaul Karim, secretary of Sribardi Upazila Jamaat, was killed. Several people were injured in the incident.
According to relevant sources, the autopsy of the body will be conducted at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at 10 am today. The burial will be held later. Meanwhile, protest marches have been held at Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur and Jamalpur to protest the killing of Jamaat leader Rezaul Karim in Sherpur.
The protest march started from the main gate of Rokeya University to Shaheed Abu Sayeed Square last night. From there, the march returned to its previous location and ended. During this, the marchers raised various slogans demanding justice for the killers of Jamaat leader Rezaul Karim, who was killed in the clash. In addition, a march started from the Sakal Bazar area of Jamaatpur town and ended at Tamaltala intersection. Later, a short rally was held there. At this time, the protesters demanded speedy justice for the killers.
